PADI IDC - Go Pro with Dive Performance and your PADI CD Ulf.

IDC-Preparation
This two day program is designed to help candidates refresh their diving skills and Divemaster dive theory prior to the IDC. During the IDC Prep we will review in detail the 5 topics that make up the dive theory Exams: Physics, Physiology, The Recreational Dive Planner, Equipment and General Skills & the Diving Environment - complete with an exam we know you have NOT seen before!
During the Confined Water session we will review all 20 skills of the PADI skill circuit, focusing on your demonstration abilities and also run a Rescue and AID Workshop where we can make sure you are familiar and comfortable with the PADI Rescue Diver Course Exercise #7 and things like liftbag use and knots.
For those lacking current CPR status (within the past 24 months) an EFR Update is available for free as part of the Prep. This two hour add-on focuses on the 10 skills that make up Primary Assessment and Secondary Assessment. The IDC Prep is a great way to ease yourself into "IDC learning mode", familiarize yourself with the facilities, meet and get to know your fellow candidates, Course Director and the IDC Staff.

Duration: 2 days

PADI Assistant Instructor
Go Pro mit PADI Course Director UlfThis course introduces candidates to some of the basic skills and methods of teaching scuba: in the pool where divers actually learn the skills to start with, in the classroom where they understand and learn “Why” and “how” things occur underwater, and again in Open Water where student divers demonstrate their proficiency and mastery of the skills and knowledge gained from Confined Water and the Classroom. The course also looks at how people learn, the PADI system of diver education and focuses on the programs they will be able to teach as Assistant Instructors, such as The Coral Reef Conservation Specialty and the Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty.
Candidates learn how to give successful Microteaching Knowledge Development presentations (classroom), Confined Water presentations (pool) and Open Water presentations (sea) and are graded on these exactly the same as they would be at the IE.

Duration: 4 days

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI)
This takes the Assistant Instructor (AI), Instructor with another training organization or person attending a whole IDC program the next step in their PADI Instructor Development. During the OWSI course you will learn more about the PADI System and the courses which it is made up of, PADI Standards and the role of media and prescriptive teaching. There will be a detailed look at the courses which you can teach as a PADI OWSI, and how to actually run them, such as: Discover Scuba Diving, Scuba Diver, Specialty Diver, Adventure Diver, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Divemaster and the various diver retention programs as well as important information on legal responsibility and risk management and some business principles for you.
In both Confined Water and Open Water we will show you how to teach various Continuing Education Courses and skills, such as the Rescue Diver Course in Confined Water and Search & Recovery, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Adventures in Diving and some more Rescue Diver Course assignments in Open Water. Candidates will also become familiar with Lift Bag use, Knot Tying, Pocket Mask use and a variety of other useful skills! Upon successful completion of this program you will receive authorization to attend the Instructor Examination.

Duration: 6 days

PADI IDC (Instructor Development Course)
The IDC begins with independent self-study Knowledge Reviews and encompasses two PADI programs: The Assistant Instructor Course (AI) and The Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (OWSI). Together these two programs make up the full IDC. My 10 day PADI IDC is designed to develop your teaching skills and expand your knowledge and understanding of the PADI System of Diver Education…

After all what makes a teacher a successful professional is not what he or she knows, but rather what your students know after you have finished teaching them! During the IDC you will learn how to successfully transfer knowledge and skills to others. Furthermore you will develop a clear understanding of The PADI Philosophy of Continuing Education and the full range of PADI programs, teaching materials and tools that are available to you as a PADI Instructor. Once you have understood the basic teaching methods employed in teaching scuba and how to use the PADI system to it’s fullest, you will find teaching an easy and exhilarating experience! The focus of these programs is on development, in other words learning by making mistakes and being corrected - so feel free to make as many mistakes as you like! In fact, we learn best by making mistakes, then receiving the necessary feedback we need to improve. The programs are performance based and candidate centred, so you will receive feedback throughout the course informing you of your progress and level of proficiency.

Duration: 10 days

Emergency First Response Instructor - a "Must Have" for every serious instructor
This one and a half day program leads you to the rating of EFR Primary/Secondary Care and EFR Care for Children to become Emergency First Response Instructors. This course can be split into two parts: EFR Primary/Secondary Care (for adults) and EFR Care for Children, which deals with CPR and First Aid for infants and children.
During the Emergency First Response Instructor course, you will build on the skills you learnt during your EFR course but the focus shifts to developing your instructional abilities to teach these skills to others rather than simply the ability to be able to do the skills. The instructor course covers specific goals and performance requirements required for the Primary Care, Secondary Care and Care for Children courses, looks at how to structure the course, the requirements of performance-based training, and your role as the instructor which is slightly different to your role as a Scuba Diving Instructor. The course is relaxed and low stress - even if it deals with something very serious.

Duration: 1,5 days

PADI IDC Staff Instructor.
PADI IDC-Staff-Instructor IDCSThe IDC Staff Course is in two parts: Two days of preassessment with your Course Director plus an audit of an entire IDC On the first two days, the preassessment phase, you will write a Dive Theory Exam (same as your IDC: Physics, Physiology, RDP etc) and also an open book Standards Exam. You will spend time with your instructors learning about the PADI IDC Philosophy, IDC candidate presentation grading and evaluation and probably the most difficult part: IDC candidate counselling. You will also give an IDC Confined Water Presentation, conduct and be evaluated on the 20 skills of the PADI skill circuit and give a Prescriptive Teaching Classroom presentation. The second part consists of auditing an entire PADI IDC, evaluating each candidate presentation along side your Course Director. REMEMBER: PADI IDC Staff Instructors are qualified to staff IDCs and are invaluable members of any Instructional Team. They can also teach the increasingly important PADI Assistant Instructor course, a responsibility only IDC Staff Instructors and PADI Course Directors share. Prerequisites includes being a renewed PADI MSDT.

Duration: 2 days plus auditing of an entire IDC (12 days)
